Revamping Moorhead Close

Planning consent for Moorhead Close, Cardiff was originally granted by Cardiff City Council in 2004 via a previous developer. In 2019 we worked with Cardiff Community Housing Association to construct 20 apartments over 5 floors in Block G and 12 apartments over 6 floors in Block F, totalling 32 apartments. The ground floor units were adapted for disability needs whilst the upper floors provided a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments.

Overcoming obstacles

The challenges that we originally faced on site started with the bankruptcy of the previous developers. Obtaining information to satisfy the Building Control and Warranty providers were difficult but overcome. Logistically the site was also very small which meant that delivery of supplies and parking for the sub contractors was difficult.

The site was handed over in April 2021, the build contract took 21 months which continued through COVID-19 restrictions.
